New Years Resolutions for your Entryway

Organizing your home is key to relieving the daily stress of work and family, and having a place by the door for your things is a great way to start. Here are some tips for taking control of your entryway, large or small:

  • Hang Some Hooks – Hooks are quick and easy to use. They hold everything from coats and scarves to bags, keys, and the dog leash. They come in all sizes and styles, so it’s easy to incorporate them into the design of your entry. Hang a few right by the door and you’ll always know where that dog leash is.
  • Create a Landing Strip – We all need a place to put the mail that we grabbed on the way in. Place a slim console table by the door if there’s room, or if you have a small entry, hanging a simple shelf will do perfectly.
  • Have a Seat – A small bench by the door is a good idea for those days when you want to change your shoes before you walk in or out of the house. You can even use the space underneath to keep rain boots or other shoes you might not need everyday.
